EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:

22/02/99 - Ongoing. Senior Software Engineer. Logical E-Business Solutions / The Web Factory, Stoke-On-Trent.
Lead a team of 6 to create a Java based content management application, now being used by clients such as General Motors (Europe) and JCB.
Also involved in numerous bespoke projects (from consultancy to implementation) utilising DHTML, XML, ASP, SQL and Javascript.
 
08/08/98 - 19/02/99 Audio Engineer. Silicon Dreams, Oxfordshire.
At this well respected Games development house I was involved in all aspects of sound effect/music preparation; from recording celebrity commentators to tying in user interface sound effects across a spectrum of gaming platforms.
 
06/01/97 - 07/09/97 Software Engineer. Brokat, Stuttgart.  
While on an Industrial Placement period at Brokat I designed and implemented a pure Java cross-platform installation program capable of installing software packages on remote machines using FTP, Telnet and RLogin connections. Converted their Secure-Banking application to run as a service on Microsoft NT and created a Java/XML 'Wizard' for its extensive configuration requirements.

INTERESTS and ACTIVITIES:

When not programming, I enjoy tinkering with 3D modelling, animation and audio sequencing software. Away from computers I enjoy swimming and playing Squash and Chess. I am a regular at the local cinema and a keen photographer.
My main academic interest is in Artificial Intelligence, specifically Natural Language Parsing and Knowledge Representation.
